Nature Enrichment Opportunites

Creative Nature Academy has been providing opportunities for families and children to connect to nature, themselves, and their community in the Grand Rapids area since 2014.

Home: Welcome

Class Offerings

Creative Nature Academy partners with Blandford Nature Center to offer hands-on learning opportunities that are strongly steeped in nature and the stories of the land. Classes are offered in two 11 week semesters in Fall and Spring. Additional class offerings are offered throughout the year.

9:30am to 2:30pm

This class is offered to 8 - 15 year old students. Mornings are dedicated to artful expression (clay, watercolor, acrylics, sketching, nature collages, traditional arts like weaving and cooking, and more),  and afternoons are dedicated to gross body movement (running, jumping, hiking, balancing etc).

9:30am to 2:30pm

This class is geared to 6-10 year old students. Each day includes PE games, wild play, and a daily hike, along with artful expression (working with clay, making paint with berries and bark, crafts using natural materials, and more). Circle time includes a story and song allowing time to slow down and connect.

9:30am to noon

This class offered to 4-6 year old students. Each day includes an art activity (making wild paint, nature art, clay work, sketching, and more), songs, stories, PE games, wild exploration, and a daily hike.

Fall Essentials

9:00am to 2:00pm

This class is offered to 9 to 13 year old students. Students in this class will assist with guiding and leading the lesson in the morning. Afternoons are dedicated to developing leadership skills, moving our bodies in the woods, creating songs and art activities, and more. Students will develop trail stamina, leadership skills, songwriting skills, and develop a love of nature.

9:30am to 2:30pm

This class is geared to 6-10 year old students. Each day includes PE games, wild play, and a daily hike, along with artful expression (working with clay, making paint with berries and bark, crafts using natural materials, and more). Circle time includes a story and song allowing time to slow down and connect.
